Today I went to Prince Caspian again, because it was free. Then I went to Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, and heard him say something that I have believed for a long time.
"We don't care about your degrees. We care about the knowledge you obtain as you get the degrees. You want to know something we care less about? Your 'pedigree.' We do not care WHERE you went to college. Only 2% of employers care about that." -Dave Ramsey
This reminded me of a conversation I had with Alec and Juliet. I was saying that no one really cares where you go to college, and Alec said, "In today's competitive job market, where you go to college determines whether you will be hired."
Moral of the story. College is not worth going into extreme debt over. Mr. Ramsey gave an example of what not to do. A guy called into his radio show and said that he had over $100,000 in student debt... and he had a degree in Sociology, was working as a case worker for the state making $30,000 a year. Is this a sound financial plan? NO!
Yeah, go to college. It's probably a good idea. I am going to a college in the fall. It'll cost me all of my savings. But I won't go into debt for it. I figure that $10,000 a year for all of my expenses of college, room, board, tuition, books, etc. is a good price.
I am very impressed with Mr. Ramsey's program, but most of it is impractical because I haven't graduated from college yet. I mean come on... I cannot save money for my kids college when I haven't paid for my own yet.

I loved Caspian. But you saw it AGAIN? Who with and why did you see it the first time if you had a free show later?
I saw it the first time with kevin and nick and jeff and such. Then I went for free with my family the next morning. I thought that I was being slightly ridiculous, but whatever.
Not ridiculous at all actually. Especially concidering I saw Batman Begins like nine times in theaters, two of which in the same day (one in the afternoon and then at the drive in that night) and I usually see movies several times when I like them cuz I love the theater.
